Permeable

Synonyms: Pervious, Porous

Permeable surfaces allow the flow or movement of water through them.  Permeable surfaces are necessary to the infiltration of water into the ground, which helps reduce the impact of stormwater runoff.

Permeable surfaces include most soils, vegetated areas, or natural areas.  Much of the nautral landscape, excluding rock outcroppings, is permeable and is the opposite of impervious surfaces. While impervious surfaces tend to allow people to move around easier, consider permeable pavement for your home!
